EXTRACT OF RD 286/2022 OF APRIL 19, PUBLISHED TODAY, APRIL 20, BY WHICH THE MANDATORY USE OF MASKS IS MODIFIED DURING THE HEALTH CRISIS SITUATION CAUSED BY COVID-19
MUST USAGE:
The mandatory use of masks for people over 6 years of age is maintained in the following places:
– In health centers, services and establishments by workers, visitors or patients, except for those admitted when they remain in their room.
– In social health centers and in particular nursing homes for workers and visitors when they are in shared areas.
– In means of air transport, by rail, in buses (except on platforms and passenger stations), and in the closed spaces of ships and boats when the safety distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained.
RECOMMENDED USE:
– For all people with a higher vulnerability to COVID-19 infection in any situation in which there is prolonged contact with people at distances of less than 1.5 meters.
– In closed spaces for public use (we also understand community spaces for shared use) in which people transit or remain for a long time. – In mass events. – In meetings or private celebrations (for example Homeowners Meetings) depending on the vulnerability of the participants.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
In the work environment, in general, the use of masks.
However, those responsible for occupational risk prevention may determine the appropriate preventive measures that must be implemented in the workplace or in certain spaces of the work centers, including the possible use of the mask.

“The Governing Board of the CGCAFE echoes the existing doubts and, given the lack of official references for the field of the OWNER COMMUNITIES, we have agreed to share several reflections with all the members.
The new rule eliminates the mandatory use of the mask in general, leaving a large part of the criteria that each one must follow to individual responsibility.
We must think that with this new regulation we can all go to any space for any type of activity without the use of the mask being mandatory, with the only exceptions contained in the aforementioned Decree (socio-sanitary spaces, public means of transport… ). This same criterion is applicable to the different existing spaces in each building, given that the common areas of the communities of owners are not one of the exceptions. Therefore, the use of masks in the common areas of buildings is also no longer mandatory.
However, we must always try to act with the greatest possible prudence, bearing in mind that we are still under the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is advisable to continue wearing the mask in cases of continued contact in which the safety distance (1.5 m) cannot be maintained. It is also advisable that people who, due to illness or for any other reason, are especially vulnerable continue to wear the mask.
