2.- Close doors and windows to avoid drafts that can lead to breakage and falling glass.
3.- Secure elements such as awnings, blinds and antennas.
4.- Remove pots, cages and any object that could fall into the street.
What to do on the street or in the field in case of strong gusts of wind:
1.- Do not go out if it is not necessary.
2.- Stay away from old houses or in poor condition.
3.- Avoid walls and billboards.
4.- Trees offer the danger of falling and breaking large branches.
5.- Do not walk through parks or tree-lined avenues.
6.- Do not go under scaffolding or buildings under construction.

Caution on the road:
1.- If possible, avoid driving. Preferably use public transport and if you have to go out, find out about the weather forecast.
2.- Reduce speed to safety limits. A gust of wind can throw you off course.
3.- Motorcycles and large vehicles that offer a large contact surface with the wind (trucks, vans, vehicles with trailers or caravans) are in danger of overturning in cross-winds.
4.- If necessary, stop in a safe area and wait for the wind to die down.
If you live near the coast:
1.- You must try to stay away from the beach and other low places that may be affected by the high tides and waves that are usually generated by the intensity of strong winds.
2.- In these situations, the sea acquires extraordinary conditions and can drag you if you are in the proximity of the sea.

In an emergency it is always good to know some self-protection guidelines, it can help you make decisions that can favor both your safety and that of others. In case of any emergency, call 112 and report it to the authorities.
