Your house says goodbye to Christmas. Do it right and save a few eurillos

Christmas 2014 has already passed and now is the time to collect all that decoration that we placed at home with so much love and care so that the spirit of Christmas could be breathed in every corner of our home. It is an unattractive task and one that is much more tedious than the time to place it, but if we leave it for tomorrow we can find that in the middle of August that Nativity scene is still placed at the entrance of the house.
In some countries, this decoration is collected just after December 25, since the coming of the Three Wise Men from the East is not celebrated, but in Spain we delay that moment a little longer and postpone it until after January 6. In part it is an advantage since the effort to decorate our home lasts us a few more days and we can maintain it for almost 1 full month.
Today we are going to see some tips so that we can collect the Christmas decorations from our house and our community of neighbors and leave them ready for the next Christmas. It may be that doing it well can even save us a few euros and the occasional headache.

Save yourself a few euros when you remove the Christmas decoration.

If you are one of those who enjoy decorating the house, surely year after year you incorporate new details and Christmas decorations into your home. Combining what you already had from previous years and incorporating something new, it seems that we release decoration every year. That is why it is important that we collect and classify the decorations well now that the time has come to store them, so that next year we will be able to find them the first time and avoid losing them in any corner having to buy new ones.
For this, we recommend the following tricks so that there are no surprises in 11 months:

  • Use a large box to store all the Christmas decorations . It’s best to label it clearly so you don’t need to open it to find out what’s inside. Having all the decorations together will help you go faster when you go back to decorating your house.
  • Classify Christmas decorations in boxes or bags . You can separate the ribbons, the balls, the decorations that hang from the tree, the Nativity figures. This way you will avoid losing elements such as the key figures of the Nativity scene that can force you to buy a new one next year.
  • Write down new ideas for next year’s decoration . After seeing the decorations at home for several weeks, surely you have thought of a new decoration that you can add. Leave it written inside the box so in a few months you won’t have to think too much when coming up with a new decoration.
  • Buy an ornament now that they are on sale . After Christmas, all Christmas decorations go down in price and you can take advantage of these discounts to buy those decorations at a good price and save them for next year.

Do you have any decorations left over? Donate it to your community of neighbors.

Now that you have all your decorations in front of you, there may be some that you have not used for years. Maybe they are old, you don’t like how they match your house or you are tired of seeing them. What if you give them to the community of neighbors?
We all like to see our community of neighbors decorated at Christmas but we are always busy with our things, or we wait for someone else to do it for us. An idea could be to set aside those decorations that you are no longer going to use at home and keep them apart from the rest. When in a few months you go to decorate your house again, you will find them and it will cost you very little to give a little color to your community of neighbors.
At AF gestifinc we usually follow these tips and year after year we keep the decorations and use the old ones for the community of neighbors of our office in Elche. It takes less and less time to decorate the entire office, and our community becomes a little more pleasant and endearing simply by reusing the decorations that we no longer used. Cheer up, it costs nothing and it will make things easier for you next year.
